The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most important museums of the world.
One of those places that you have to see, at least once in life like the Louvre in Paris, the Prado in Madrid, the National Gallery in London, etc. ...
In the Uffizi you not only admire world masterpieces, you can especially appreciate and understand the development of Italian art from the Middle Ages (late 1200) to the late Baroque, passing through the major artists of the Renaissance.

What is there in this Gallery that you absoutely have to see?

Here is a list of the works that are a MUST (I point them out in chronological order and so also room order, starting from the entrance):

1.   Giotto’s Majesty
2.   Gentile da Fabriano'sAdoration of the Magis
3.   Paolo Uccello’s San Romano battle
4.   Federigo da Montefeltro and Battista Sforza by Piero della Francesca   5.   The Birth of Venus and the Spring by Sandro Botticelli
6.   Leonardo’s Annunciation
7.   Tondo Doni (Holy Family) by Michelangelo
8.   The Madonna of the Goldfinch  and the portrait of Leo X by Raffaello   9.   Urbino Venus by Tiziano
10. Medusa and Bacchus by Caravaggio                                                                                                      11. Judith and Holofernes by Artemisia Gentilischi

I added an eleventh painting (even if you don’t normally do it in lists): that of Artemisia Gentileschi because she was a woman and an artist of great talent and ability in a world of men. Her work expresses such force and drama that it really deserves a stop.

I remind you that at the Uffizi there is normally a long queue. To avoid it just make a reservation (the museum asks a fee of euro 4.00 per person)
Ask Hotel Kursaal & Ausonia if you need any assistance: with no additional charge we will book for you, so that you can make the most out of your time in Florence.
