The gardens of Florence in the Spring: Villa Bardini Garden

Spring in Florence is undoubtedly a great time.
The days are long, the temperature is very comfortable and beside the usual monuments you can dip in the many gardens that characterize this city.

What is unbelievable in Florence is that it takes only a few minutes to go away  from the many tourists and from traffic to enjoy the birds singing, the beauty of nature and the creativity and art of mankind.

Here is a list of the most beautiful gardens that you can visit:

  1. Boboli – with all its “minor gardens” (Camelie, Cavaliere, di Madama…)
  2. Bardini
  3. Iris
  4. Orticultura
  5. delle Rose
  6. Villa Petraia
  7. Villa di Castello
  8. Villa Gamberana
  9. Pratolino
  10. Orto Botanico (Giardino dei Semplici)

It 'difficult to choose which one to see. My advice is to visit Boboli focusing on the monumental part (the Amphitheatre and the "Fountain of the Fork" -Neptune's trident) and then move on and go to my favorite garden: Villa Bardini.

This garden is a wonder and a surprise!

Space is used wisely so that even if you feel that it is smaller than Boboli, you can admire many types of garden. There are the English,  the Italian garden, as well as the vegetable and  fruit area (the orchard) and finally the part with the monumental baroque staircase and the loggia of the belvedere, where you can stop to eat something and enjoy the panorama of Florence in a pleasant coolness.
It 'very touching to see how man has changed this corner of paradise and has transformed nature into architecture (do not miss the arbor of wisteria and hydrangea collections!).

Tickets for Villa Bardini are joined with the Boboli. So you can enter Villa Bardini from Via dei Bardi  or entre enter from Palazzo Pitti, passing through  Boboli.
