From April 14 to July 7, 2010 the Prince's Passage is open to the public. This means that it is possible to walk on the same passage that the Medici have used for centuries to move, unseen, between their two residences: Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti. This is an exceptional event for our city. I am a tour guide and I haven't seen it!

The start point is in Palazzo Vecchio, where you can visit the main rooms of the ducal palace. Then you cross the little bridge on the Via della Ninna to enter the Uffizi where you can enjoy the beautiful view on Piazza della Signoria and the Arno River. From here you enter the actual Vasari Corridor: the passage that goes above Ponte Vecchio, offering breathtaking views of Florence, which revolves around the Mannelli Tower, which enters the Church of Santa Felicita in order to get out at Boboli Gardens near the Buontalenti's Grotto.
In the Vasari Corridor, you can admire the many paintings by the school of Caravaggio (severely damaged by the 1993 terrorist attack), Italian and foreign paintings of the 17th and 18th century,  the selfportraits of many artists (it is the largest collection in the world) as well as portraits of very famous people.

The visits are possible:

Wednesdays at 9.30 am, 11.30 am, 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm
Thursdays at 9.30 am, 11.30 am
Friday at 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm

The ticket price is euro 19.00, Citizens U.E. aged between 18 and 25 years pay euro 12.88, and those below 18 years pay euro 6.75
