The Japanese Festival of Florence is the ideal place to discover Japan, Japanese culture and traditions.
Held at Limonaia di Villa Strozzi from Nov 20-22 2009 and open daily from 11 a.m. till 8 p.m, this event has a rich program ranging from music, fashion and design to martial arts and philosophy including ancient arts and culture from the East.
It is the right place to try on kimonos and join tea ceremonies, attend seminars and exhibitions or practice Shodo, Origami and Yuzen (silk painting). There are also energetic Judo, Aikido and Scherma Kendo demonstrations along with traditional music, dance and theater performances. Not to forget the special stands to indulge in body massages and to try gastronomic specialties from Japan.
This festival includes shows, installations, meetings, film and workshops based on the traditions and innovations from the Orient. The festival is only a short bus ride from Hotel Kursaal & Ausonia: bus nr. 6 from Santa Maria Novella train station.
