There are many things to do for New Year’s in Florence.

1. Organized parties:

2. Dinners
Many restaurants offer dinners. Prices range from euro 100.00 to 150.00 per person.

I would advise, in order of price:
Simon Boccanegra in Via Verdi Filipepi in Via San Niccolò

And some cheaper ones such as La Spada in via della Spada or Raddi (menu at € 65.00) in Via dell’Ardiglione.

3. Theatre
At Cestello Theatre they play in vernacular “The Boy of San Frediano”. A comedy based on stories and caricatures of the old inhabitants of the historic district of San Frediano.
At midnight toast together. All at € 40.00

4. Concerts in the square.
This year the city council has organized (snow permitting) 4 free concerts in different squares so to satisfy the most different musical tastes.
Elio Storie Tese will be on stage in front of the Central Station. In Republic Square Off Funck the marching band from Vicchio will perferorm music that ranges from soul, jazz and funk. Gospel music will star in Piazza Santissima Annunziata and Piazza Signoria will be the perfect backstage of classical music with a concert by director Giuseppe Lanzetta.

For those who prefer to stay out I remind that most trattoria and pizzeria offer their regular menu (not increasing the price) but require a faster meal so to be able to satisfy more people..
