Visiting Florence in July and August can be strengthening because it's hot. But there is no need to be scared because the city offers many opportunities for refreshment in its many pools.
They are the perfect place for a quick dip or for a relaxing and refreshing afternoon.
Most public pools are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the entrance costs around EUR 6.00 per person.
Here is a list of the most popular pools of the city: Le Pavoniere: This pool, located in the Cascine Park, is open during the day (from 10.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.) and the night (from 7.30 p.m to 2.00 am). During the day the swimming pool offers both the possibility to properly swim (in a part devoted to this) but also to dip to cool off and play with children. In the evenings it transforms its look because there you can have drink at the cocktail bar or have a nice meal in the restaurant or taste their good pizza, very often with live music. It is easily accessible from Hotel Kursaal & Ausonia with the tramvia, direction Isolotto, from Santa Maria Novella Station Flog: It is located in Poggetto and offers a not too big swimming pool but located in a very green area. From Hotel Kursaal & Ausonia the nearest bus is n. 4 from Piazza Unità d'Italia.
Costoli: It is located in the stadium area (Campo di Marte) and it is probably the largest aquatic complex in Florence, for there are 3 different sized pools with diving boards and slides. It is the ideal place for those who want to stay and find companionship because generally it is always crowded and not really very quiet. The bus No 20 in Piazza Indipendenza is just around the corner from Hotel Kursaal & Ausonia.
Bellariva: It is located along the Arno river and it is surrounded by many trees. Well suited to those who want to swim and to those who want to lie on the grass and sunbathe. It 's definitely the farthest pool from the hotel and to get there you should take the bus 14 from Piazza Inidpendenza.
